A lot of people are scared of steaks as they want to watch their weight or to stay healthy, and think that healthy steak aren't a thing. Don't get me wrong, the steaks with more fat are often the tastier ones, but that doesn't mean that steak cant be a part of a healthy diet.

Read on for the top four leanest steaks that to introduce into a healthy diet.

    Top Sirloin Steak

The top sirloin steak is from the primal loin just underneath the tenderloin, and whilst not as flavourful as the tenderloin, and not quite as tender, it grills fantastically, just with a marinade and seasoned with salt and pepper.

    Bottom Round Steak

The bottom round steak comes from the hind leg of the cow and is often seen in a roast, cooked slowly and then cut thinly sliced, this steak has a really low fat content, which will give it less flavour but it'll be healthier for you than others.

Works great with a garlic butter when cooking too!

    Top Round Steak

The top round can be a little bit tough as its from the top of the back leg of the cow, and this area gets a lot of work through its life.

This kind of beef is made into jerky a lot, air dried and salted.

Also features in a London broil a lot!

A slow cook will help to tenderise the meat, season with salt and pepper and cook with a small amount of water.

    Sirloin Tip Side Steak

This meat comes from the front part of the rear leg, used in roasts and ground beef, its got a great flavour for an incredibly lean piece of meat.

Pan sear and then into the oven or the best cook, and season as you see fit!

    Final Thoughts

Having a healthy diet is all about balance, so that means you don't necessarily have to cut out some of your favourite things! Just take the healthy option and always in moderation, try to find a nice lean steak that you love!
